Having traversed the globe for that picture-perfect lifestyle with the dreams of building an idyllic family home – a base from which they could spread their European wings and explore the utopian pockets of Africa – the owners of NIMANO Hillside discovered a vacant plot in one of the most charming hamlets on Cape Town’s peninsula. Its perfect positioning cushioned into the hills – absorbing the magnificent views of the verdant landscape and mesmerising ocean – pulled at the heartstrings of the German~Austrian owners, and thus began the building of NIMANO. Where a European influence of expertise, equipment and materials met an African narrative of artisanal mastery, craftsmanship and construction. They invested years of remote project managing and decision making alongside the local team of architects and designers, to see their vision grow, adapt, transform and formalise into its own perfection. Every space of the home has been consciously considered in alignment with the owners’ intent of marrying luxury and refinery with the serenity of the environment. A Camelot of contemporary spaces – where inimitable style meets comfort and nostalgia – open themselves out into nature, seamlessly blending in with the natural light and the rich colour palette of the landscape. After a few gentle laps in the magnificent swimming pool, you’ll settle on the verandah, shaded from the morning sun, as scents of a hearty brunch waft through the open doors and hover over the dining table. A long walk along the beach, a ramble up the mountain, a visit to the neighbouring markets, a steady cruise along the coastline hunting for more secret spots beside the sea. You’ll spread your wings and pivot from this pocket of paradise in Africa. Just as the owners intended for each discerning guest to enjoy, whilst being completely ensconced in luxury.

Noordhoek Village
Experience the jovial delights of the community at Noordhoek Farm Village where a cluster of delectable eateries, craft and clothing boutiques, organic delicatessens and a fabulous ice-cream shop settle beneath the ancient oak trees. There’s a wonderful Wednesday market for some yummy treats, beautiful artisanal crafts and jazzy live music.
Chapman’s Peak
Few places on earth deliver such magnificent views of a coastline where the rugged, craggy cliffs escort you along winding roads, carved out of the mountain’s ankles. Stop off at the scenic picnic spots and marvel at the spectacular views of the mountain meeting the ocean, especially at dusk.

The gardens engulf us in their verdant hues of green, seamlessly blending in with the vegetation of the landscape. Little tranquil pockets of paradise reveal themselves along hidden walkways around the herbs and vegetables, the fruit trees and rolling lawn.

Noordhoek Beach
For long morning and evening walks, horse riding and surfing, sandcastle building and shipwreck exploring, the majestic Noordhoek Beach stretches for 6km of pristine sands. Where families meander the shoreline with their dogs and boogie boards, buckets and spades, splashing in and out of the beautiful blue waters.
Noordhoek Mountains
One of the best ways to experience the Peninsula in all of its glory and marvel at the magnificent views of the abounding nature is to take to the nature trails of the Noordhoek Mountains. Immerse yourself in the verdancy of the fynbos as you discover a plethora of plant species, animal and birdlife, settled within walking distance from NIAMNO.
Fruit Garden
Adding to the harmony of the garden’s ecosystem, flowering fruit trees coexist with the indigenous vegetation that nurtures NIMANO’s soils, as a conscious statement on the wellbeing of the property’s environment. Burgeoning olive groves, citrus orchards and tall banana trees nestle themselves along the garden’s footpaths.
Jungle Path
As if being transported into an enchanting secret garden fairytale, our meandering jungle path escorts you and the family along a wooden walkway that’s enraptured by vibrant colours and swaying green foliage. The perfect place to escape for a fun excursion around the garden.
The Open Fire Pit
When the stars are out, blanketing the night’s sky and the conversations are flowing like the tide below, the open fire pit is alight, warming our hearts and hands, and heating up the Teppanyaki Grill. Ready for searing the next feasting that’ll be shared around the flames, that dance in the evening’s breeze.
